TWENTY-ONE

HUNTER

When the cart driver slows to a stop beside the house, I turn to Bunny and find her eyes as wide as saucers.

“This is your dorm house?” she asks, her head tilted back so she can look up at the Victorian-style home.

“Our dorm,” I correct her. “And yes. I told you the student accommodations were different here. Our families have been attending Kingsacre for decades. One of our great-grandparents first built a house on campus and each generation since then has updated it as needed.”

“So, what did you guys do?” she asks, her voice a little dazed.

“We put in a pool.”

“Your dorm has a pool?” she shrieks.

“Our dorm has a pool,” I correct again.

“Fucking hell, at Priorlee I shared a room barely big enough for two twin beds with a stranger,” she mutters.

“Watch your mouth, Baby,” I chide, grabbing her chin and turning her to look at me. “Don’t let me hear you cursing. You know I don’t like it.”

“I know, but, really, if there was ever an occasion to curse, it’s when you realize you got royally—”

I silently arch my brow in warning and she rolls her eyes.

“When you realize you got royally fudged by your school choice.”

“Yeah, well, you’re here now and this will be our home ’til the house is ready. Come on, let’s go and see who else is here before we get started on the unpacking.”

Taking her hand, I pull her to the front door and tap my student ID against the lock. Once it clicks, I push the door open and pull her inside.

“Holy crap,” she gasps, taking in the wooden carved moldings and handcrafted furniture. We’ve done our best to modernize the place, but there’s only so much we can do when it’s an old house with original features that it’d be a travesty to replace.

A sense of familiarity settles over me the moment I close the front door behind us. This will be my fourth year in the house and it feels right to bring Bunny here before we move into our own home.

“Anyone here?” I yell, the sound echoing around the high ceilings. When no one answers, I turn and shrug. “We must be the first ones. Do you want the tour?”

Her nod is so enthusiastic she looks like a bobblehead toy. After I’ve shown her around and pointed out whose room is whose, I take her to our room.

Even before I left for summer vacation, I knew that I fully intended to be bringing Bunny back with me. So, I had our rooms renovated while the house was empty. I’ve never been much of a man slut and my bed hasn’t been overwhelmed with naked pussy, at least not since Bastian transferred and Starling moved in. But I wanted everything to be fresh and new for her.

The suites aren’t huge but consist of a small sitting room and a bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Pushing open the door to our room, I step back and gesture for her to walk in first.
